Sound Transit has officially selected its preferred route and station locations for the $4.4 billion Tacoma Dome Link Extension. The 10-mile project will connect Federal Way Downtown Station to Tacoma Dome Station, with stops in South Federal Way, Fife, Portland Ave, and Tacoma Dome.

Route 271 is a somewhat complicated route that serves U-District, Medina, Downtown Bellevue, Bellevue College, Eastgate, South Cove, and Issaquah.
On weekdays, most buses terminate at Issaquah TC, and take the longer loop via northbound 150th Ave SE, SE 37th St, and SE Eastgate Way — skipping the direct connection used on weekends.
